TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The recount for the Tucson City Council Ward 3 Democratic primary appears to be back on.

On Monday, Aug. 25, a judge rejected an election challenge by challenger Sadie Shaw.

Shaw appears to have lost the primary to incumbent Kevin Dahl by only 19 votes.

That narrow margin triggers an automatic recount, one that was supposed to be done last week.

But Shaw and others filed the election challenge, setting up the hearing that was held Monday.

13 News’ J.D. Wallace was in the courtroom when a judge rejected it.

Another judge then ordered the record to go ahead, and it may start on Wednesday. It could take two days, and the results would have to be presented to a judge in Pima County Superior Court.
