PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The National Weather Service of Phoenix has issued a dust storm warning for a significant portion of the Valley that includes most West Valley cities like Surprise, Goodyear, Glendale, Litchfield Park, Peoria. In addition, most of Phoenix, including north Phoenix are under the warning until about 6:30 p.m. unless it gets extended.
At 5:15 p.m., the NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for portions of Mesa, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler Heights, San Tan Mountain Park, San Tan Valley, and Seville. It’s in effect until 6 p.m.
A 67mph wind gust was recorded in Chandler around 5:20 p.m., according to the NWS. An even stronger gust was recorded at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport less than an hour later.
