MIFFLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- Patients will have more private rooms available at a Mifflin County hospital.

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is investing more than $5 million into a renovation. A part of that is 14 new private rooms, which the hospital said will reduce noise, improve patient privacy and keep infections from spreading.

The rooms are located in a medical-surgical unit focused on oncology and palliative care. Other than larger rooms, technology also transformed the hospital.

"We now offer digital whiteboards, which track a lot of information, allows people to have an entertainment package so they can, you know, in downtime have movies," said AJ Hartsock, associate vice president of operations for the hospital.
