FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- A former office manager of a Franklin County outdoor services business was charged Monday after police said she embezzled nearly $40,000.

Marilena Falkenbury, 50, of Maryland, is accused of making multiple transactions from House's Outdoor Services bank accounts to her personal account while she was employed, court documents filed by Waynesboro police show.

Falkenbury worked as office manager for the company from Dec. 6, 2021, until she took a leave for medical reasons in May 2023, and she never returned, according to the criminal complaint. She was granted power of attorney over the business bank account when she was hired.
