Police have identified the victim and arrested a suspect in connection with a weekend shooting that left a 17-year-old girl dead in northeast Oklahoma City .

Shortly before 2:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, the Oklahoma City Police Department responded to calls about an assault with a deadly weapon at a house near NE 20th Street and Bath Avenue, according to an incident report written by an officer.

Arriving officers found a 17-year-old girl, Shyanne Crawford, with gunshot wounds inside the home, police said in a news release Monday. She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A boy who was also 17 fled the scene on foot, police said, but was later taken into custody. He has since been booked into the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center on a complaint of mu
