BELTON, Texas — Belton's Lena Armstrong Public Library has a new leader.

The City of Belton has announced that City Manager Sam Listi has appointed Amanda E. Hairston the new Library Director.

Hairston has worked for Belton ISD since 2020 and currently serves as a Digital Instruction Specialist at Hubbard Branch Elementary school, according to the City. At Belton ISD, Hairston has reportedly led library programs, developed instructional resources and managed campus-wide literacy and STEM initiatives.

The City stated Hairston began her library career in the Lena Armstrong Public Library, serving as a Library Clerk from 2011 to 2013. Hairston has also served as Children’s Librarian for the Harker Heights Public Library and held multiple education roles in Belton ISD, the City said.
