MULTNOMAH COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - A man was sentenced to nearly six years in prison on Monday for shooting a man in the back with a dart out of a slingshot at a Gresham MAX station in 2024.

39-year-old Joseph Naes of Gresham pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, as well as a charge of fourth-degree domestic violence assault, and was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison by a Multnomah County judge.

The sentence stems from a bizarre attack that took place at a Gresham MAX station on July 17, 2024.

Police were called to the scene of the station at 162nd Avenue and East Burnside Street around 6:30 a.m. that morning, in response to a reported stabbing.
