SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A 21-year-old man was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Monday for the deadly shooting of a man in July 2023, according to the Marion County DA’s Office.

Michael Ray Solis, 19 at the time of the shooting, received the 25-year sentence - without the possibility of parole - for first-degree manslaughter.

The shooting took place July 1, 2023, on Northeast Silverton Road in Salem. Arriving officers found 34-year-old Steven Michael Hill dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported seeing three men running from the scene, which was later corroborated by surveillance video.

Following an investigation, Solis was identified as one of the men fleeing from the scene.
