EMPORIA, Kan. (KSNW) -- Emporia police say two 14-year-old boys have been arrested, accused of attempted armed robbery.
Police say the two boys were armed with a gun and a knife when they attempted an armed robbery that happened around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, in the 1100 block of East 12th Avenue. The department says a gun and a knife were recovered as part of the investigation.
The gun had been reported stolen before the robbery attempt. Police say it was an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers that solved the case.
