LAKEWOOD, Ohio (WOIO) - Police continue to hunt for the suspect in an arson that happened back in July, and they are asking for help from the public.

“We checked some addresses for him, but we really have no further leads on him right now,” said Lakewood Police Cpt. Frank Eschweiler. “Any bit of information is going to help us try and catch this guy.”

He says Carlos Carey is the suspect in the arson that happened in the early hours of July 24, in an apartment on Franklin Boulevard.

He says Carey was going through the process of getting evicted and is accused of going to a nearby gas station to get fuel to start the fire.

Fortunately, things were not as bad as they could have been, as people were in the other condo-style units attached to the one Carey set on fire.
