ROUND LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- When you dial 911, you expect help to be just seconds away. But for some families in parts of Saratoga County, cell phone dead zones can slow that response. Officials say it is a danger that you need to be prepared for.

Cell phone dead zones might seem like just a minor inconvenience, but it can be dangerous. Assistant Fire Chief Shaun Flynn of the Round Lake Fire Department said the issue is becoming more noticeable as more people are getting rid of their landlines. He also added that there are dead zones all around the area, and that some people have had to drive a quarter mile or more in order to get service to call 911.
