ARGYLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Families across the Capital Region are grieving Monday after finding out their dogs died while in the care of Anastasia's Acres Dog Boarding Facility in Argyle. The Washington County Sheriff's Office confirmed 21 dogs died in the facility this past weekend, and one surviving dog was taken to an animal clinic for care.
“He was such a good boy, he was only eight months old. We’re going through a tough time. It’s like losing a child," said Robert and Leah Brown.
The Browns brought their dog Rex to Anastasia's Acres Dog Boarding Facility around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Their daughter, Melanie Scoville said she bought her parents a weekend trip to New Hampshire for Mother's Day. However, the trip wasn't a vacation for very long.
