TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) --

Two mother cats and two litters of kittens were found abandoned in Tupperware and a taped cardboard box on the side of the road in Troy last week. Local nonprofit Operation Snip rescued them, but according to director Lynn Kopka, this is part of an ongoing trend.

"Within the past week we've probably taken in close to 20 cats, 20 kittens" Kopka recalled. "It never stops."

Operation Snip began as a non-profit dedicated to reducing the overpopulation of feral cats in the area. They use a trap, neuter, and return or rehome method in their work. Once demand for low cost spay and neutering services for residential cats heightened, they began to offer those services as well.
