LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- It was a warm welcome at Harry Reid International Airport Monday as family and friends waited for the Summerlin South Little Leaguers to come home.

The team played through local and regional tournaments before winning the national title U.S. Championship in Pennsylvania.

While they didn't win the World Championship against Chinese Taipei, there are still plenty of reasons to celebrate, as the team remains number one in the U.S.

"Our whole team has worked really hard, for months and it's really good to know that we are the best all-star league in the USA," player Cache Malan said.

Malan said the team has created a strong bond, and their hard work has paid off.
