LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The Las Vegas Justice Court’s Mental Health Court program held its second graduation in downtown Las Vegas.
Graduates walked out of the center at the Regional Justice Center on Monday morning and stepped into a new chapter, one built on recovery and resilience. The Mental Health Court program focuses on rehabilitation rather than incarceration.
“The journey really means a lot to me. It’s a really, really big accomplishment,” Brandon Smith said.
Smith is one of six new graduates from the Mental Health Court program. After years of homelessness and drug and alcohol abuse, Smith said the program gave him hope for a brighter future.
“It’s very bright,” said Smith. “It’s gonna be a good journey through sobriety, and it’s looking bright.”
