GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A fire damaged an auto shop on Monday afternoon in Gwinnett County.

Just before 2 p.m., Gwinnett County Fire said crews learned about a fire at Stefan International Car Service in the 4200 block of Buford Highway. The 911 caller said everyone was in the process of evacuating.

Minutes later, firefighters arrived and saw flames and smoke coming from the building. Crews began to attack the fire and did a search inside to make sure everyone was able to get out safely. After they made sure no one was inside, firefighters withdrew from the building due to safety concerns. They continued to fight the fire from outside.

Officials said fire crews were able to get the flames under control by 3 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene to address hot spots.
