SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - A frontal boundary to our north, onshore flow and plenty of tropical moisture has dumped some 5-7 inches of rainfall over the past few days. The ground is super saturated and any additional downpours will cause some flooding concerns over parts of the area on Tuesday.

This frontal boundary will stick around through Tuesday and then begin to move out on Wednesday. Some slightly drier air will slip in on Wednesday and Thursday bringing an end to widespread rain but we will still see a few storms.

By Friday we will see a return to more normal summer storms with mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms scattered about.

In the tropics all is quiet for now but expect things to pick up as we move into September or the peak of hurricane season.
