Across New Orleans, signs of Hurricane Katrina still pepper the city.

Buildings that once stood as pillars of the community, now linger as reminders of what was lost. Advertisement

Billions of dollars in infrastructure are still waiting for new life, like Charity Hospital, Lindy Boggs, Six Flags and the Municipal Auditorium, to name a few.

Eye sores, lingering after a near miss from the eye of the storm. Each sit stagnant like the floodwaters that left them damaged or deserted.

Now, nearly two decades later, there are some signs of progress that leaders are hoping will grow into revitalization.
