LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The widow of a Woodland Hills doctor killed one year ago is suing the physician's ex-wife, who is accused of masterminding his murder .

Dr. Hamid Mirshojae was ambushed and shot in the parking lot outside his medical office in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard in what the district attorney called a murder-for-hire plot organized and funded by the doctor's ex-wife, Ahang Mirshojae.

Investigators say Ahang Mirshojae put together a crew of four other people, including Evan Hardman, who is accused of pulling the trigger.

The others are charged with supplying the weapon and helping Hardman escape.
