ROSWELL, N.M. —

Search ongoing for suspects after a man was shot and killed in north Roswell.

Police said 31-year-old Darrin Johnson, of Roswell, was shot in the area of North Sherman Avenue and 23rd Street. He was injured and knocked on a door on North Sherman, which led to residents taking him to a hospital.

Johnson later died of his gunshot wound at the hospital on Monday, Aug. 25.

The Roswell Police Department said the suspect or suspects are believed to have left the area in a vehicle. The vehicle believed to be involved was later recovered.

No suspects have been taken into custody for the fatal shooting. Anyone with information is being asked to call police at (575) 624-6770.
