MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - The Sun Prairie Area school board reported on Monday night that the president has resigned from her position, according to an email from school officials.
In an email to the board, Katey Kamoku said the follow regarding her departure:
The seat will now be open for election in April 2026.
Her resignation comes after the Sun Prairie Board of Education voted that the 2024-25 Operational Excellence were in fact, not compliant with district expectations.
The vote comes as parents and board member expressed their concerns about the district’s transparency . Tensions on the topic of transparency have been high between parents and the district after a former staff member’s arrest last month.
