SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - Many people thought 2024 would be Kyle Whittingham's final season as head coach of the Utes football team.
But the way Whittingham's 20th season at the helm went, he couldn't go out like that. The Utes were riddled with injuries and struggled to a 5-7 season.
But now at the age of 65, Whittingham still has that same love for the game.
"You know, if I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't have come back," Whittingham said Monday ahead of Utah's season opener this Saturday at UCLA. "If I didn't have the passion for the game and the and the energy, I wouldn't have. So there are no second thoughts whatsoever. I'm excited to get the season going and watch these guys play."
