MACON, Ga. — Yolanda Clark financially supports herself and three others, including her young son Ayden.
Clark works as an office manager at United Way of Central Georgia , and is a part of the 31% of ALICE families in Central Georgia.
ALICE stands for asset limited, income constrained, and employed.
"So what that means in a nutshell is you're employed, but at the same time some emergency might come up and you won't have enough to cover like your other expenses," Clark said.
Last week, Clark celebrated a financial milestone. She was among the first 14 families to graduate from United Way's Generate program, a financial literacy initiative specifically targeted towards ALICE families so they can build economic stability.
The program taught participants essential money management skil
