CLEVELAND, Ohio - A suspect wanted on murder and rape charges in Northeast Ohio was arrested Monday in Dayton after a confrontation with law enforcement officers, authorities said.
John Lamar Armstrong, 50, was taken into custody after fleeing from Northeast Ohio, according to U.S. marshals.
The arrest stems from the death of Juvar King, 46, of Warren, who was reported missing on Feb. 4, after failing to pick up his daughters. King’s body was discovered on March 17 outside a home at Chapman Avenue and Terrace Road in East Cleveland.
The office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner said King died from a gunshot wound to the head. Armstrong, like King, is from Warren.
In May, Summit County sheriff’s deputies issued a warrant for Armstrong on rape charges.
