LEAMINGTON, ON

The Koops gathered in Leamington this Sunday for the annual Koop Paska bun hunt. This year the delicious white icing was delicately applied by Oma Koop right before the uncles hid the buns in every nook and cranny in the house.

“Okay, kids, time to find the Paska buns!” yelled Oma Koop, in Low German of course. “There’s a Paska bun with your name written on it in colourful sprinkles!”

The kids scurried about the house in search of the treats, while their mothers stood nearby making sure they didn’t consume any cobwebs or whatever else might have fallen into the icing.

“I know that Oncle Jake. He always stuffs a bun in between two couch pillows,” said Taunte Lisa. “It’s a bit of a mess to clean up, but it’s a tradition so his methods cannot be challenged.”
