National Guard troops are already in Washington D.C. and on Monday, President Trump said Chicago was likely the next target.

“We may just go in and do it which probably what we’re going to do,” he said. “They need help badly, Chicago desperately needs help.”

On Monday, the president signed executive orders to further his efforts to combat crime in Democratic-controlled cities -- including Oakland.

Mayor Barbara Lee spoke out about it at a Democratic National Committee summer meeting in Minnesota.

“Donald Trump is just downright wrong about Oakland. Like he’s wrong about all the other cities that he trashed,” she said, telling the audience that violent crime is down 29%, homicides fell 21% and the rates of vehicle thefts are down 45%.
