Players of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets threatened to boycott training on Monday over unpaid training and travel allowances for three weeks, ahead of their TNM Super League match against Songwe Border United.

The dispute was only resolved after the intervention of the technical panel, led by head coach Peter Mponda, who convinced the squad to resume preparations for Tuesday’s game.

One player, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that each member of the squad was owed K75,000 in unpaid allowances, amounting to a total of K2.1 million. “The technical officials gave us the money on the understanding that they would claim it from the club,” the player stated.
