BRAINERD — The Bridge on 7th shelter will reopen on Monday, Sept. 1, for another season of providing a safe, warm place to stay for Brainerd’s unhoused population.

Since opening on South Seventh Street in 2021, the Bridge on 7th has provided more than 13,486 nights of shelter, helping 533 individuals, according to Bridges of Hope, the nonprofit that runs the shelter.

This year marks the fifth season of operation.

“The Bridge on 7th is more than just a shelter, it’s a place where guests are seen, heard, and supported,” Bridges of Hope Executive Director Jana Shogren said in a news release. “Our goal is to meet each person where they’re at, offering not just a bed for the night, but a connection to something more.”
