A 23-year-old killed in a shooting in Roxbury earlier this month was remembered as a “peacemaker” who was "filled with hope and determination for his future.“

Tanahj Takeem Thompson-Hinnant died on Aug. 4 after a shooting broke out on just before midnight Dudley St., according to Boston police. No arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the young man’s death as of Aug. 26.

“Tanahj was not merely a young man with dreams — he was a peacemaker, a beacon of kindness, and a soul whose beauty radiated far beyond the surface," his loved ones wrote in his obituary.
