The New York Giants have reportedly released quarterback Tommy DeVito.

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that the fan-favorite former UDFA quarterback is among the moves made by the Giants as they winnow their roster down to their final 53-man roster. There had been some speculation that the Giants could try to trade DeVito, but the market apparently never materialized.

The Giants originally signed DeVito — a hometown hero from Cedar Grove who played for Don Bosco Prep — as an undrafted free agent from Illinois after the 2023 NFL Draft. He flashed upside in his rookie preseason and became an overnight sensation when he was forced into a starting role thanks to injuries to Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.
