Former Michigan linebacker Michael Barrett was waived by the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday as teams across the NFL must trim their rosters down to 53 by Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

The Wolverines’ winningest player in program history signed with the Raiders in May and finished tied for fifth on the team with seven tackles during the preseason. Las Vegas was Barrett’s fourth NFL team since he was drafted by the Panthers in 2024 in the seventh round.

He was traded to the Seahawks, coached by former Michigan defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, during the 2024 preseason but was cut by Seattle days later before joining its practice squad.
