TREMONT, the Bronx -- A man was shot in the back and killed in the Tremont section of the Bronx Tuesday morning.

Police say the shooting happened around 8:15 a.m. on East 176th Street and Anthony Avenue.

The man was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police believe the suspect fled the scene.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
