The New Orleans Saints have cut Isaiah Foskey .
The Saints released the 2023 second-round pass rusher, a source with knowledge of the situation said, marking a disappointing end to his tenure with the franchise.
In two seasons, Foskey had just 25 tackles in 27 games with zero sacks. He barely cracked the team's pass-rushing rotation and was largely ineffective when he saw the field.
The Saints had high hopes for Foskey coming out of college. The 24-year-old was picked 40th overall after recording 26.5 sacks in four seasons at Notre Dame.
Foskey's release also marks another miss by the Saints when it comes to drafting pass rushers. First rounders Payton Turner (2021) and Marcus Davenport (2018) had relatively unproductive stints with the Saints, though their careers were also affected
