SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - Today, we learned about a statewide program that makes hearing aids and care accessible for Florida children at no cost.

Thanks to a partnership between Sertoma Speech & Hearing Foundation and the Florida Department of Health, Philip and Christine Panzarino are one of many families who benefited from this program as their daughter, Gianna, received hearing aids.

The program is called the Children’s Hearing Aid Program (CHAP) initiative. Through CHAP, Sertoma operates a fleet of mobile audiology vans that travel across Florida, bringing screenings and care directly to rural and underserved communities.
