A budget friendly airline said Tuesday it's adding a half-dozen new routes at Detroit Metro Airport.

Tickets for Frontier Airlines' new flights will be available for purchase starting Sept. 2 as part of plans to add 20 new routes nationally and internationally.

The Denver-based airline has new aircraft that will run between Detroit and New Orleans, Miami, Houston, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cancun, Mexico. Service to those destinations will begin Nov. 20-22, except for New Orleans, which will start Feb. 12. Flights will be offered two or three times a week.
