The Buzz: How about this for an opener? Miami hosts last year’s national runner-up for the start of the Carson Beck Era. Although the Hurricanes don’t face the Fighting Irish often anymore, there is still antipathy between the two fanbases, especially after Miami routed Notre Dame the last time the two teams faced off (in 2017).

Sept. 6: vs. Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, 7 p.m., ACC Network Extra

The Buzz: Miami’s schedule gets a bit easier despite the short week, facing off against FCS Bethune-Cookman in what should be a chance for UM to stretch its legs and work out any kinks from the first game of the season.

Sept. 13: vs. South Florida Bulls, 4:30 p.m., the CW

The Buzz: The Hurricanes complete the home-and-home with the Bulls
