A Lisbon woman was seriously injured during a hit-and-run crash in the Market Basket parking lot in Topsham on Sunday afternoon, police said.

Jeremy Hunter, 46, of Lisbon, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct and driving to endanger in connection with the incident. He was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset and was being held on $50,000 cash bail.

Police and fire crews responded to the Market Basket around 2:40 p.m. Sunday after witnesses reported a driver in a Mazda CX-5 struck a pedestrian and left the scene, appearing to accelerate before hitting the victim.

The victim was identified as Althea Kennedy-Ecker, 72, of Lisbon. Her son, who was with her at the time, was nearly struck, Topsham Police Chief Marc Hagan said in a news release on Tuesday. Kennedy-E
