West Virginia’s home-and-home football series with Alabama is no more.

The Mountaineers and Crimson Tide have agreed to mutually cancel a series that was to be played in Morgantown in 2026 and in Tuscaloosa the following year.

As a result of the cancellation, West Virginia will now welcome Coastal Carolina on September 5, 2026, and the Mountaineers will play host to Southern Miss on September 4, 2027.

WVU says the cancellation allows the Mountaineers to alter their non-conference schedule to align with a scheduling philosophy prominent across college football.
