WEST LAFAYETTE – It’s not exactly accurate to say Devin Mockobee is Purdue’s only returning starter from last season – first-string quarterback Ryan Browne started two games for the Boilermakers a year ago and wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette started four times.

It is fair to say, however, that Mockobee is the only full-time starter to bridge the gap between the coaching tenures of Ryan Walters and now Barry Odom. He is the longest-tenured Boilermaker contributor by a wide margin and the face of the program – maybe the only face some fans might recognize when Purdue’s season begins Saturday against Ball State.
