KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Mike Matthews is a talented wide receiver who has played in 11 career games, hoping to bring momentum to Tennessee’s 2025 season.

“I can’t even imagine. I don’t even think I was thinking like that back then. But now it’s like, it’s crazy, seeing where I come from.” That’s what Matthews said when asked about what his younger self would think of him playing in Neyland Stadium.

His favorite on-the-field moment? That first touchdown.

“It was a double move play around my route, and I’m running, but I don’t think he’s looking at me, but he quickly turned and looked at me and threw it, but he threw it pretty high,” Matthews said. “I gotta go get that then, yeah, it just happened.”
