Six Flags has announced its plans to close another park, which has been in operation for nearly five decades.
According to USA Today , Six Flag’s California’s Great America in Santa Clara, California is expected to close after the 2027 season, specifically after its Halloween run that year.
The decision is tied to the park’s land lease, which is set to expire in 2028, according to the news site SFGATE . The land, which was owned by Cedar Fair, was sold to real estate company Prologis in 2022 for $310 million.
The agreement allowed the park to continue operating at the site until the lease ended in June 2028 and included the potential for a five-year extension.
At the time the land was sold, Cedar Fair announced its plan to close the park when its lease expired, SFGATE reported. Fol
