County officials proposed a 25 per cent increase in pay for the warden – going from $41,951 to $52,518 – and a 41 per cent increase in remuneration for councillors, going from $15,663 to $22,014.

Director of corporate services and clerk Kimberly Casselman said the figures are based on the average from eight other Eastern Ontario municipalities. Prescott-Russell, Renfrew, Kawartha Lakes, and Prince Edward County were excluded because of differences in how pay is calculated.
