A new special sauce is coming to the McDonald's menu this fall, the company announced.

This September, McDonald's is rolling out its Special Edition Gold Sauce , which the fast-food joint describes as "a golden-colored sauce inspired by North Carolina BBQ." The sauce can be requested on its own for dipping or ordered on several different menu items.

The special sauce will come a week after the return of McDonald's Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin & Creme Pie on Friday, Aug. 29.
