ELIZABETH, New Jersey (WABC) -- A man was killed and several other people were injured after police say a woman drove into a Planet Fitness gym in Elizabeth on Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:20 p.m. at the gym on Newark Avenue.

Police say a man was killed and three others were taken to the hospital.

The unidentified driver crashed into a bank of windows just to the left of the entrance.

The circumstances of the crash are not yet clear but police say everyone is cooperating.

The buildings department in Elizabeth determined there is damage to the building and it will be closed until further notice.
