LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A teenager was identified and arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 16-year-old in northwest Las Vegas.

Police said they identified a 17-year-old boy as a suspect in the death of Jayden Collins . He was taken into custody Aug. 22 and faces a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon. When first responders arrived, they found a teen now identified as 16-year-old Jayden Collins who was shot in front of a house.

Police did not identify the suspect in the news release.

Collins, 16, was shot and killed Aug. 12 during a house party. He was found in front of a home in the 5600 block of North Bonita Vista Street, near Ann Road and Durango Drive in northwest Las Vegas.

According to the Clark County coroner’s office, Collins was shot multiple times.
