Plans have been lodged for a former city centre convenience store to become a short term let for capital visitors.

The request was put to Edinburgh Council this week with the applicant seeking to a change of use of the old Bruntsfield corner store, which is now a one-bed apartment set over two floors.

The former General Store at 67 Viewforth once operated for decades as a "small neighbourhood convenience store", according to planning documents. However, permission was granted for change of use to a residential property in 2016.

Now an application has been put forward to change its use retrospectively to a short term let for holidaymakers.

Reports submitted to the Council read: "The proposal is to change the use retrospectively of the flatted property known as 67 Viewforth Edinburgh EH1
