PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Three people are facing charges after police say a man was stabbed and assaulted with skateboards outside the downtown Portland library Monday evening.

Just after 5 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance near Southwest 10th Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 44-year-old man with multiple stab wounds, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).

Investigators said the victim had just left the nearby library when he saw a disturbance. When he tried to intervene, he was stabbed several times by one suspect and hit with skateboards by two others. He was taken to a hospital with injuries that are expected to be non-life-threatening.

The suspects ran from the scene, but officers tracked them to Holladay Park with help from Transit Police and others. All thre
