CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Browns got down to the 53-man roster limit Tuesday by letting 14 players go, including veteran kicker Dustin Hopkins.

Hopkins was one year into a 3-year extension, so the move costs Cleveland $4.9 million in dead money against the cap.

Hopkins made just 18 of 27 field goals a year ago.

Andre Szmyt, undrafted out of Syracuse in 2023, gets the job.

He was most recently in the UFL but made the game-winning field goal Saturday against the Rams.
