TEXARKANA, Ark. - Harvest Regional Food Bank serves about 60,000 people each year who don't know where their next meal is coming from.
One in four of them are children and another 30% are seniors.
The agency kicked off "Hunger Action Month" Tuesday to raise awareness and inspire action.
While there are uncertainties with government budget cuts, Executive Director Camille Wrinkle says with the support of the community their mission hasn't changed.
“Of course, any decrease in the amount of food that our neighbors get impacts the way that we serve our neighbors. In fact, it impacts the amount of food that we have to supplement for people to be able to get by,” said Wrinkle.
