Terrence Graves doesn’t know who will be his starting quarterback in Southern football's next game against Mississippi Valley State, he said at Tuesday’s media availability

The second-year coach said the position battle between returning redshirt sophomore Jalen Woods and junior Jackson State transfer Cam’Ron McCoy, who started in the opener, is still ongoing.

“Both are competing," Graves said ahead of his team's game at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Rice–Totten Stadium in Itta Bena, Miss.

Southern (0-1) played both quarterbacks in its 31-14 loss to North Carolina Central in Atlanta. McCoy received the vast majority of snaps, despite being listed as the backup quarterback on the two-deep depth chart provided in the press box of Center Parc Stadium.
